This Privacy Policy governs your use of the Car Camera DVR – Dashcam iOS application ("App", "Service") created and developed by AppAspect Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (also referred to as "Guru Info Media", "we", "us", or "our"). The App is available on the Apple App Store and is designed to turn your iPhone or iPad into a powerful car DVR recorder and GPS blackbox — without any extra hardware.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use the App.

Car Camera DVR requests the following device permissions to function. iOS will prompt you to grant each permission the first time the related feature is used; you may change your choices at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security.

The table below summarises every category of data the App may collect, why it is collected, and whether it is linked to your identity:

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it, primarily when you create a User Profile to access cloud backup and cross-device synchronisation features.

When you create a profile, we collect:

• → Display name – used to personalise your in-app experience.
• → Email address – used for account authentication and service-related communications.
• → Cloud-stored videos – your recordings uploaded by your explicit action for secure backup.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. Personal data collected for cloud services is processed solely to deliver those features.

The App automatically collects certain non-personal information that cannot directly identify you. This data is used to improve app performance, serve relevant advertisements, and analyse how users interact with the App's features.

Non-personal information we collect may include:

• Location data including GPS coordinates, heading, and speed (logged anonymously for GPS blackbox overlay).
• IP address used to connect your device to the internet.
• Device brand and model, operating system version, device language, and unique device identifiers (such as IDFA).
• Mobile network information (carrier name, country code, signal strength).
• App usage patterns, session length, features accessed, and recording statistics.
• Crash reports and performance diagnostics collected via Firebase Crashlytics.

Third-party libraries, SDKs, and APIs integrated into the App may collect additional non-personal information. Please refer to each third party's own privacy policy (listed in Section 11) for details.

Car Camera DVR's core functionality is video recording. The App accesses your device's camera and (optionally) microphone exclusively for the following purposes:

• Front & Rear Camera Recording – Captures driving footage in your selected resolution (up to 1920×1080 / 1080p) and frame rate (15–30 FPS).
• Dual-Camera Mode – Records simultaneously from both front and rear cameras when enabled in settings.
• HUD / Windshield Mode – Uses the front camera to display a mirrored view suitable for projection onto a windshield.
• Audio Recording – When enabled, the microphone captures ambient in-car sound alongside video. You may disable this at any time in the App settings.
• Video Trim & Share – Camera roll access is used to allow you to select, trim, and export clips.

Recorded videos may contain sensitive information (your location, surroundings, or audio). We strongly recommend reviewing and managing your recordings regularly using the Video History screen, where you can delete files directly from the App.

Car Camera DVR uses your device's GPS to deliver its speed-tracking and blackbox features. Specifically, location data is used to:

• Display real-time speed (in KM/H or MPH) as an overlay on recorded video.
• Display GPS coordinates on video recordings for journey documentation.
• Trigger Speed Alerts — a configurable notification when you exceed your set speed limit.
• Log journey data as part of the GPS blackbox record for potential use as evidence.
• Provide anonymised location data to network quality measurement partners (Opensignal, Huq) — see Section 11.

Location data used for GPS overlay and blackbox logging is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. Only the anonymised location data shared with Opensignal and Huq (as described in Section 11) leaves your device.

Premium subscribers can activate Cloud Video Backup to securely upload their recorded videos to our cloud infrastructure. This ensures your footage is preserved even if your device is lost, reset, or replaced.

When you use cloud features, the following applies:

• Account Creation: You create a User Profile with an email address and display name. This data is stored securely and linked to your cloud content.
• Video Uploads: Videos are only uploaded when you explicitly trigger backup. Uploads occur over a network connection of your choice (Wi-Fi recommended for large files).
• Cross-Device Access: Once uploaded, your videos are accessible from any iOS device where you sign in with your account.
• Data Retention: Backed-up videos remain in your cloud account until you manually delete them or cancel your subscription (see Section 13).
• Encryption: All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Cloud-stored content is encrypted at rest.

The free version of Car Camera DVR displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob requires an internet connection to serve ads and may collect device information to serve contextually relevant advertisements.

The information AdMob may collect includes:

• Device identifiers (IDFA / advertising ID), subject to your iOS tracking consent choice.
• General device information (model, OS version, screen size).
• App usage signals used for ad targeting and frequency capping.
• Ad impression and click events.

Premium subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience. Upgrading to any paid subscription plan removes all AdMob advertisements from the App.

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how users interact with the App and to identify and fix crashes and performance issues. These services collect no user-identifiable information.

Firebase Analytics collects:

• App events (e.g., recording started, settings changed, feature used).
• Session duration and screen view data.
• Device model, OS version, and app version.
• General region (not precise GPS location).

Firebase Crashlytics collects:

• Stack traces and crash logs when the App encounters an unexpected error.
• Device state at the time of the crash (memory usage, app foreground/background status).

All analytics data is aggregated and anonymised. By using the App, you accept Google's use of Analytics as described in Google Firebase Analytics Terms.

Car Camera DVR integrates a number of trusted third-party SDKs and APIs to power its features. Each third party operates under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the data practices of these parties. Please review their policies for full details.

Car Camera DVR is free to download and use. Optional Premium Access unlocks advanced features including Cloud Video Backup, ad-free experience, and priority support. The following subscription plans are available:

We do not have access to your payment card information. All billing is handled securely by Apple. Prices may vary by region and are subject to applicable taxes. Subscriptions can only be used on iOS devices linked to your Apple ID.

We retain data only for as long as necessary to deliver the services and fulfil the purposes described in this policy.

We take the security of your data seriously and implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

These measures include:

• HTTPS / TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our servers.
• Encryption at rest for cloud-stored video content and user account data.
• Access controls that restrict employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.
• Regular security reviews of our infrastructure and third-party integrations.

Car Camera DVR is rated 4+ on the Apple App Store and is a utility application designed for use by drivers. While the App's content is suitable for all ages, the cloud backup and user profile features — which involve collection of personal information — are not intended for or directed at children under 13 years of age (or the relevant age of digital consent in their jurisdiction).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at the address in Section 18 and we will promptly delete that information from our records.

We encourage parents and guardians to monitor their children's device usage and to ensure that no personal information is submitted without parental consent. The App's core recording and GPS features do not require account creation and therefore do not involve collection of personal data.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 18.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features, legal requirements, or our data practices. When we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you via an in-app notice or email (if you have a registered account).

Any changes we make to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page and will take effect immediately upon posting unless a later date is specified. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
